Pete's friends
Sometimes, Pete's cousin from the city and their friend the squirrel play together by the tree.
Pete waiting for action
Pete likes to watch the other birds feed from the bird feeder. Just like me.
Bird feeder rush hour
In the morning the bird feeder is in high demand and the birds quarrel over the seats.
Parakeet circus
When the parakeets decide to eat there is no space for any other birds. Look for their bright red beaks, how many do you see?
Green finch chilling
Sometimes, not very often, the birds like to take a break from eating and just relax in the tree.
Caught in the act
Big birds like Pete started using the bird bath straightaway but smaller birds took a long time and are still a little wary.
Magpie is a different kettle of bird
You always know when a magpie or magpies come to the garden as they announce themselves with their machine gun staccato.
Playing tag
Sometimes, very rarely, different kinds of animals play with each other. Here, the squirrel siblings are playing tag with Pete's cousin.
When on your own - hop!
It does not happen often that the dunnock finds himself alone in the garden but when he does, he makes sure to make the most of it.
Blue tit resplendent in its own feathers
Blue tits flaunt beautiful colours when you get to see them up close. Green, yellow and blue with striking black cap.
Danger!
Black cat staring at the menu of little birds. Fortunately, little birds are no fools and keep a safe distance.
The fortress
The city pigeons do not know when to stop and so we had to make sure the little birds could eat undisturbed.
Rupert, the robin
Rupert and Ruthie are a robin couple living in our neighbour's garden. They observe us from the pole.
Looking down on you
Goldfinches are more cautious than the tits and usually fly away when a human approaches but sometimes curiosity gets the better of them too.
